Newport State of Mind Pulled From YouTube (Video)

Remember that fantastic spoof track/video, Newport State of Mind, about the Welsh city? The one that took off the Jay-Z Track, New York State of Mind.

Newport State of Mind Pulled From YouTubeWell, it’s been pulled from YouTube, which is citing that, “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by EMI Music Publishing.”

The Guardian is claiming that “the seven co-writers of the original song, which include Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, refused permission for the Newport single – we have been told – and that led to the video being removed from YouTube.”

This follows the singers of the spoof track attempting to release it as a single with some of the proceeds due to be donated to the mental health charity Newport Mind.

True fame
The dizzy heights of fame have continued for the spoof single singers, as they did a live performance of the single (official title, “Ymerodraeth State of Mind”) at a place called Coronation Park, in Newport, at the re-opening of Newport’s Transporter Bridge which has been closed for the last two years for repairs.
