The Isle of Wight Fire Service sent several appliances to GKN Aerospace this morning after a pump room was reported as being ‘well alight’.
Neighbour to the site in East Cowes, Allan Marsh, shared this photo of staff waiting in the car park after part of the factory was evacuated.
The fire was put out in less than an hour.
OnTheWight contacted GKN for further details. A spokesperson for the company replied,
“GKN Aerospace has no comment to make.”
