Covid testing in drive thru centre

One tenth of Isle of Wight population has tested positive at least once for Covid-19

The number of daily positive Covid-19 tests for today (Wednesday) was recorded as 170 – a sharp rise on previous daily figures (see graph below).

This takes the rolling seven day figure to 817 – a rate per 100,000 of population of 579.43.

The cumulative total since the pandemic began now stands at 14,223 – a rate per 100,000 population of 10,087.23 – a tenth of the Isle of Wight population.

One new death
There has been one new death recorded at the hospital within 28 days of positive test, taking the total to 289.

As of 8th October, the cumulative number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate on the Isle of Wight rose by one to 319.
