Parkrun Isle of Wight Starts Saturday

Parkrun is a new running event starting on Saturday in Newport.

Parkrun Isle of Wight Starts SaturdayIt’s a National campaign that organises free weekly timed 5km runs around the country.

Starting at 9am at Seaclose Park and Medina sports fields, the idea is to appeal to runners of all abilities.

The organisers describe the course as, “located in Seaclose Park and Medina sports fields and is run over footpath and grass sections, although some parts of the course do accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or temporary signs in place.”

All level welcomed
If you’re just starting your running career, fear not, there’ll be many people there willing to help you and there’s a range of prizes available for all range of skills.
