Photo Software To Blow Your Mind (video)

Photo Software To Blow Your Mind (video)If you thought that technology had just about got to the end of its innovations, you’re going to be shocked when you watch this video below.

There are two mind-blowing demos both using images including photos.

The first shows the quick, smooth and flawless handling of a very large number of images, some with huge resolution. To do this normally is just not possible, as the computer would grind to a halt, freaked out at all of the data that it’s having to handle.

We’re sure you’ll agree that the detail showed on some of the images is truly stunning.

The other demo is an amazing use of a large number of photos that have been uploaded to photo sharing site Flickr.

A very clever bit of software has gathered all of these various photos taken by different people of Paris’ Notre Dame cathedral, joining them together. The viewing software give the ability to move from one photo to the next, as if they were all part of the same photo.

For the technically curious, the main bit of clever software is called Seadragon and was bought by Microsoft.

The second demo uses Photosynth which was utilised by CNN to bring together the photos of the press and public at the Obama inauguration.

Many thanks to Mark for bringing this to our attention again.
