Police Commissioner invites public questions for scrutiny meeting

This in from the office of Simon Hayes, in their own words. Ed

Members of the public are encouraged to submit questions for the Commissioner’s Performance, Accountability, Scrutiny and Strategy (COMPASS) meeting on August 16, 2013.

Holding the Chief Constable to account
The bi-monthly meetings are a forum for Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes to hold Chief Constable Andy Marsh to account on behalf of the public.

In a bid to open the meetings up to wider participation and enable the Commissioner to act on behalf of the public, people are invited to have a say in what they think the Commissioner should discuss with the chief constable.

Your questions
In order to be considered by the Commissioner, questions must:

  • be related to policing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight
  • not discuss specific or individual cases or investigations
  • not be related to the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner, as the COMPASS meetings are about the performance of Hampshire Constabulary.

How to submit questions
The submission deadline is Friday, August 9 2013. Questions can be submitted via the following channels:

Telephone: 01962 871595
Email: [email protected]
Facebook: Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire
Twitter: @HantsPCC, using #COMPASS

The meeting will be recorded and made available on the Commissioner’s website.

To keep up to date with the developments around the COMPASS meetings, members of the public are encouraged to sign up to the Commissioner’s monthly bulletin via the My Settings tab on the Commissioner’s website www.hampshire-pcc.gov.uk, follow the Commissioner on Twitter @HantsPCC, or find the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire on Facebook.
