Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes will launch the Youth Commission pilot for Hampshire and Isle of Wight on Monday in Winchester.
The Youth Commission aims to make young people part of the solution to tackling crime and improving policing, rather than being seen as part of the problem.
Diverse group of young people
A diverse group of around 28 young people aged 14-25 will work in partnership with the Commissioner to look at ‘big priorities’ such as; antisocial behaviour; relationship with the police; domestic violence; and, drugs and alcohol.
Monday’s inaugural session of the Youth Commission, set up in partnership with the SHM Foundation an independent charitable trust, is filled with a variety of engaging activities to generate creative ideas for gathering the views of around 2000 young people as part of the ‘Big Conversation’.
The Commissioner will be involved throughout the day in this exciting, positive opportunity to further develop relationships with the young people of Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
