Problems of cars getting on Isle of Wight Festival site earlier, consequent traffic delays and ferry suspensions have led to frustration for many today.
Not surprisingly the Island rumour mill has been working overtime. Comments are speeding around Facebook that the Police have declared the festival site a ‘major incident’ and that they had closed the site.
We got in touch with Hampshire Constabulary and received a swift response stating that this rumour was NOT TRUE.
A word from the organisers
Festival organisers told VB, “We would like to apologise to Festival goers travelling today. We are currently experiencing delays getting people on to the site.
“We are working to speed things up to ensure everyone can enjoy another great Isle of Wight Festival. We would like to thank everyone for their patience.”
