Postcard from the Isle of Wight arrives 45 years late

Postcard:

We love this story of a postcard arriving 45 years after being posted from the Isle of Wight.

It’s been picked up by several news sites, but first appeared on the BBC News site on Friday.

The postcard, addressed to Mr D Stones in Leicestershire, was signed simply, “From Margaret and Ron”, with no other message.

Martin Morgan-Taylor who lives at the address the postcard arrived at this week was puzzled by the two postmarks, one from the Isle of Wight on 31 July 1968 and the other from Peterborough on 8 April 2013.

Keen to locate the owner of the postcard, he told the BBC, “This postcard arrived today after 45 years. I thought that’s absolutely incredible. You hear about these things in the media, well I’m hoping everybody else might be interested.”
