Smiling balls:

Praise for A-Level students from Island Innovation Federation Heads

This is from the Island Innovation Trust, in their words – Ed.

There were smiles all round at the Island Innovation VI Form Campus on Thursday as another great set of results were achieved by Year 13 students.

For the second year in a row, the number of A* and A grades increased more than nationally with all subjects performing strongly. Outstanding results were achieved in English, Maths, the Visual Arts and Fashion, which was particularly impressive considering the large numbers of students taking these subjects.

Headteachers Peter Shaw and Nathan Thomas said,

“We are delighted for our Carisbrooke and Medina students and also the increasing numbers of students who have been successful, having taken the decision to join us from elsewhere on the Island.

“We are especially pleased that this year group has done so well against a backdrop of upheaval due to reorganisation of education on the Isle of Wight in recent years”

Director of Sixth Form, Karen Begley, said,

“I am thrilled for the Federation but also for the individual students who have achieved so well across the board. It appears that all of our students have gained access to their chosen universities or next preferred destination; that is really good news. All of us here are tremendously proud of their richly deserved success.

Particular highlights for us were the performances of Annie Hoather-Blaus, Christopher Brett, Alfred Harwood, Rob Parsloe, Ismay Bartholomew, Alex Berry, Rebecca Boxx, Lauren Denness, Jack Roberts, Tom Taylor, Jack Pett, Carla Plowden-Roberts, Taylor Revert, Sophie Boyes and Callie Sharp.

All of them achieved straight A* and A grades across a range of subjects – a truly stunning performance”
