Christ the King Sixth Form celebrates record-breaking results
Top Grades Soar as Christ the King Strengthens Position as the Island’s ‘go to’ Sixth Form.
Christ the King College is celebrating its strongest Sixth Form results for many years, with students achieving record-breaking outcomes and continuing the school’s upward trend in academic success.
This summer’s results saw the College’s overall A-Level average grade rise to a B-, while the proportion of top grades (A-A*) increased by an impressive 8.5 percentage points, meaning more than one in four A-Level entries (25.2%) achieved the highest grades available.
The success continues a sustained period of improvement at Christ the King, with student performance now exceeding pre-pandemic levels and firmly establishing the College as one of the Island’s leading centres of post-16 education.
Particularly outstanding performances were recorded in subjects including Chemistry and English Language, where students achieved an impressive average grade of A. The breadth of provision offered continues to be a strength of the school, with a unique suite of subjects, including Classics, Latin, and vocational subjects.
The College maintained a 100% pass rate across all Level 3 Applied General qualifications for the fourth consecutive year, with students once again achieving an average grade of Distinction.
Behind the statistics are countless individual success stories, with students securing exceptional grades across three and four subjects, overcoming personal challenges, and earning places at universities, apprenticeships and career pathways of their choice. An incredible 93% of university applicants achieved a place and 83% of those with their first choice provider. STEM subjects were the largest broad category (23.3%) for university this year, reflecting strong progression into technical and scientific disciplines. Psychology-related courses were the single most popular discipline area (10%).
Professional and vocational pathways are well represented, including Medicine, Veterinary Science, Teaching (Secondary QTS), Engineering, Construction Management, Speech and Language Sciences, and Law. The cohort demonstrates a strong mix of academic, professional, creative, and applied courses, and they have been well supported to secure a diverse set of career aspirations. The University of Bath was the most popular destination this year, and an impressive 50% of university applicants will be attending a Russell Group University.

The Island VI Form celebrates strong A Level results for 2026
The Island VI Form is delighted to congratulate its 2026 leavers on an excellent set of A Level results. The results reflect the hard work, commitment and determination of students and staff, alongside the continued encouragement and support of parents and families. We are incredibly proud of all our students and their achievements.
This year has seen improvement across both A Level and Applied subjects, with a significant increase in the number of students achieving an average grade of A. We are particularly pleased that 84% of students who applied to university have secured a place, a figure above the national average. Students who have chosen alternative pathways, including higher-level apprenticeships, job-specific training and employment, have also enjoyed success in securing their chosen next steps.
We are delighted to share that among this year’s outstanding achievements, one of our students, Robert Cragg, has secured a highly sought-after place at the University of Oxford to study Medicine. This is a particularly remarkable accomplishment and is a reflection of Robert’s exceptional academic achievement, dedication and determination. We are incredibly proud to see him take this exciting next step.
The achievements of this year’s cohort are particularly significant, having experienced disruption to their secondary education as a result of the Covid pandemic. Students have demonstrated resilience, perseverance and commitment throughout their time with us at The Island VI Form and their strong results are a testament to their determination and the support of the staff who have worked alongside them over the past two years.

Lift Ryde students celebrate results day success
Students and staff at Lift Ryde are celebrating today after receiving their A-level and Level 3 vocational results.
After two years of hard work, students are finding out their results and making plans for the future, including university, apprenticeships and employment.
Amongst this year’s success stories at Lift Ryde:
- Isla Drake achieved an A* in Biology, an A* in Sociology, an A* EPQ and an A in Chemistry and is planning a structured gap year before studying Dentistry
- Hazel Jeremiah-Chalk achieved an A in Fine Art, an A in Biology, an A in EPQ and a B in photography and will be going on to Bath Spa University to study Art
- Emily Kellerman achieved an A in Maths, an A in History, an A in Classics and a B in Art and will be going on to The University of Southampton to study History
- Miles Egan achieved a Distinction in Applied Science, a Distinction* in Business and a Distinction in Sport and will be going on to do an Apprenticeship at Vicoma
- Flynn Caller achieved an A in Maths, a B in Chemistry and a B in Biology and will be going on to The University of Sussex to study Maths
- Ben Moralee achieved an A* in Philosophy, a B in Politics and a B in History and will be going on to The University of Southampton to study Law
- Ruby Mackay achieved an A in Philosophy, a B in Politics and a B in History and will be going on to The University of Southampton to study History
- Jesse Bliss-Richardson achieved an A in English Literature, an A in Film Studies and a B in History and will be going on to The University of Bristol to study Film and Screen Writing
These achievements reflect the effort and commitment shown by students, with the support of their families and teachers.
Throughout the year, the school has supported the students by providing extra revision sessions after school and during the holidays along with tutoring and coaching , helping students feel confident and prepared for their exams. All have now secured the grades they need to move on to their chosen next steps.
The school will continue to support students and families as they consider their options and plan ahead.

Ryde School celebrates best A Level results in over a decade
Ryde School pupils are celebrating their best results in over a decade following an exceptional set of A Level and IB grades.
This year’s leavers attained 48.6% of grades at A*- A and 71.0% of grades at A*-B, representing the best results at this level since 2014 (excluding Covid-adjusted years).
Notably, almost a quarter of pupils achieved straight A* or A grades in their A Level subjects. This success follows on from the best-ever IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) results earlier in the summer, where pupils achieved an exceptional average score of 35.8 points – significantly outperforming this year’s global average of 30.88.
The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) results were also excellent with an average score of 137.3 UCAS points, higher than AAB at A Level. This superb performance across all three of the Sixth Form pathways reflects the outstanding dedication and academic ambition of the 2026 cohort of pupils.

“These achievements further cement the School’s reputation for academic excellence across our diverse range of Sixth Form pathways.
“These outstanding grades are a result of the pupils’ hard work and aspirations coupled with excellent teaching, individual support and careful guidance from our dedicated staff. This departing cohort of pupils can be immensely proud of their academic achievements.
“They can also take enormous pride in all their successes outside the classroom be they in sport, drama, music, sailing, outdoor activities or the numerous other areas of school life in which they have flourished.
“That they are heading off to study such a range of courses shows how the School nurtures the interests of each individual. I wish them all the very best for their future.”

Among the A Level cohort, there are some superb individual successes to celebrate. Josie (International Politics & Language at Bath) and George (Design Engineering at Bristol) both achieved A*A*A.
Oliver (Architecture at Cambridge), Daisy (History at Bristol), Isaac (Medicine at Exeter), Alfie (Music and Sound Production, Bournemouth), Merlin (Textile Design at University of the Arts, London), Daralis (Dental Surgery at Sheffield) and Harry (Maths at Bath) all achieved A*AA.
There were some excellent individual performances to celebrate in the IBDP results. Felix (Engineering at ETH Zurich) led the cohort with an outstanding 43 points out of 45. Christina (Law at Würzburg) and Charles (General Engineering at Durham) both earned 40 points. Livia (French and Italian at Oxford) secured 39 points. Ludwig (Architecture at UCL) and Nastya (Finance at Durham) both scored 38 points.
Among the IBCP cohort, Hamish, Beau (Real Estate at Reading), Poppy (Sport Management at Bath), Ollie (Marketing and Management at Exeter), Billy (Psychology at Cardiff), Archie (International Management at Bath) and Caleb (Real Estate and Property Development at Portsmouth) all achieved IBCP scores of over 170 UCAS points which is higher than three A*s at A Level.
Four other individuals to highlight include Rafi, who has achieved a prestigious soccer scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, Ava will attend the highly-regarded Emil Dale Academy to study Musical Theatre, Zoe will be going to the Royal Central Conservatoire, London to study Acting: Contemporary and Devised, and Katie, who has already joined the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as a Deck Officer.
Isle of Wight College celebrates T Level results
The Isle of Wight College is celebrating the success of its T Level students as they receive their results today, marking another impressive year of achievement across a range of technical and vocational disciplines.
Since introducing T Levels in 2022, the College has seen growing numbers of students choosing these innovative qualifications, which combine classroom-based learning with substantial industry placements. Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels have been developed alongside employers to provide students with the knowledge, skills and workplace experience needed to progress confidently into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
Students have achieved strong results across the College’s T Level programmes, including Health, Media, Engineering, Business Management and Administration, Early Years and Education, Digital, Animal Care and Management, and Marketing. Many students have already secured places at university, progressed into higher-level apprenticeships, or accepted roles with local and national employers. Among those celebrating their achievements were students who highlighted the support of their teachers, the strong sense of community within their courses, and the opportunities their T Levels have opened up for the future.
Ben successfully earned a Merit in his Management and Administration T Level. Echoing the importance of support from teaching staff, Ben reflected on his experience, saying,
“During the course, there were different things I found challenging, but no matter what it was, whether it was finance or Marketing or HR, my teachers helped me throughout it all.”
Ben’s teacher, Clare Learoyd, praised his achievement, commenting,
“Ben topped off his achievement with a Distinction in their Occupational Specialism in Team Leadership & Management, proving that dedication and hard work truly pay off”.
Ben is now in the process of applying to become a firefighter.
Grace who studied Health & Social Care was delighted to achieve a Distinction and is now heading to the University of Portsmouth to study Paramedic Science.
Millie, who received a Distinction in Early Years and Education, was equally pleased with her course experience. She said,
“The structure was really easy to follow, and our teacher was really good at reminding us of things to do and always there to support us.”
She is now heading to Oxford Brookes University to study Occupational Therapy.
She was joined by Mollie, who also studied Early Years and Education and achieved a Distinction. Mollie is now preparing to study Speech and Language Therapy at City St George’s, University of London.
Shakeena, another Early Years and Education student was delighted to achieve a Merit. Speaking about her results, she said,
“I’m really chuffed about getting a Merit because it was quite a difficult course. My teacher was lovely and everyone on my course was supportive.”
Fellow student Kaitlin reflected on the demands of the course, adding,
“Doing a two-year course, it’s very full on and you get a lot of different things happening at once, but it was helpful to have a supportive teacher.”
Kaitlin is currently working at her Childcare placement setting and has secured full-time employment.

Throughout their studies they have embraced the challenges of combining academic learning with meaningful industry experience, developing the skills that employers and universities are looking for. T Levels continue to provide an increasingly popular route for young people looking to gain industry-relevant skills while keeping their future options open. These qualifications are helping to address skills needs, locally and nationally, while preparing students for successful careers.
Many of the students receiving their results today are either currently employed or about to commence full-time employment in their chosen field.
