The Isle of Wight Council is currently undertaking a detailed review of services for older people and is reminding the public it wants to hear their views.
The review looks at the future needs of the Island’s older population and, more specifically, the future roles of The Adelaide and The Gouldings resource centres. The council is seeking the views of residents on the type of support people would like to see on the Island in the future and how it is delivered.
Views of future users sought
As well as people who currently use services for older people on the Island and their families and carers, the council wants to involve younger people who may need to use care services in the future.
A report has been produced to show people how care for older people is changing locally and nationally, what the council knows about the number of people who might need care in the future, and what is currently available on the Island.

Consultation ends 26th August
The initial consultation runs until Friday 26 August 2011 and people can complete an online survey at www.iwight.com.
Paper copies of the survey are also available from help centres, libraries, County Hall, The Adelaide and The Gouldings.

Public information sessions are being held at 6 and 7pm at the following venues:
Ryde: Thursday 11 August – Carnival Learning Centre
West Wight: Wednesday 17 August – West Wight Sports Centre
