Ryde Harriers compete in Isle of Wight Track Championships

National Lottery Anniversary Race
The weekend before last, Ryde Harriers’ Tracey Cooper was one of the lucky 15,000 people to take part in the National Lottery Anniversary Race in London.

Tracey CooperThe distance was 5 miles which she completed in 1.00.30.

The course took in parts of London used during the Olympics in 2012 and the race finished in the Olympic Stadium.

Tracey said,

“It was a brilliant atmosphere and really special running into the Olympic Stadium and round the track at the end.”

Isle of Wight Track Championships
The recent Isle of Wight Track Championships over a distance of 5,000 metres in first place and first V40 was Paul Cameron of Isle of Wight Road Runners 16.19.2 second was Jack Grundy of Wight Tri in a time of 17.04.1 and third was Simon McMorran who was also first V50 Stubbington Green in a time of 17.23.6.

First Ryde Harrier home was Tom Blackwell in fourth position overall in a time of 18.25.6. First V60 was Ryde Harrier Jonathan Norton in a time of 24.43.5 and first V70 was Ryde Harrier Stephen Lee in a time of 23.41.0. Dominic Jacobs, Ryde Harriers was first Junior man in a time of 21.36.0.

First lady home was junior Carla Plowden-Roberts IWAC in a time of 19.32.2. First SW was Ryde Harriers Sarah Kavanagh in a time of 20.42.8. Lyndsey Brazier was 1st V45 Ryde Harriers in a time of 23.30.9. First V55 was Ryde Harrier Judy Brown in 25.14.8.

The Westride Round multi terrain nominated run from Ryde over a distance of 6.4 miles was won by Phillipa Daley in 57.55 5 seconds inside her nomination, second was Graham Maitland in 51.14 16 seconds inside his nomination, third was men’s captain Pete Still 50.35 25 seconds inside his nomination. Fastest man on the night was Sean Furmidge in 50.25. Fast lady was Tracey Dillon in 52.23.

Over at Sandown 6.5 miles nominated multi terrain run America Adventure had joint winners Sarah Kavanagh and Mary Norman who were also fastest ladies in a time of 52.35 both being 35 seconds outside of their nominated times. Joint third place was Peter White and Stephen Lee 1 minute 23 seconds inside their nominations. Fastest man on the night was Rod Parker in a time of 46.34.
