Shanklin Brass Band offers all ages a chance to pick up an instrument and play

Ever wanted to learn to play a brass instrument or would like to return to playing again?

Shanklin Town Brass Band are delighted to announce the return of Pic ‘n’ Play, offering a chance for people of all ages to do just so.

All ages welcome
May you be a grandparent, parent or child, the youth and community bands offer the chance for everyone to learn and enjoy a new hobby.

After a two-and-half year hiatus due to the pandemic, pic ‘n’ play aims to encourage new players and experience the joy of playing an instrument in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Train with the Brass Academy
With a range of instruments available from cornet to trombone to percussion and drums, the band also offers tuition with their Brass Academy held Saturday mornings.

Costing as little as £1 with DBS enhanced voluntary tutors, music from being played within the band’s repertoire and Grade 1 to Grade 8 of the ABRSM can be taught.

So why not come along on Saturday 30th April from 10am until 12pm and try an instrument, meet the current youth and community band and get four weeks free tuition.
