Very sad news hits us that Solent TV went off air yesterday, due to insolvency.
The community TV channel that was the only TV station dedicated to those on the Isle of Wight started October 2002, providing training to many young Islanders who wanted to have a taste of working in the media. The results of their hard work turned out a very professional looking TV station.
Its position on Sky TV gave the Island a shop window, showing what it has to offer, anywhere across Europe that the Sky Satellite cast its footprint.
Those who didn’t have access to the TV picture were able to view both the excellent Solent Tonight show as well as read background articles through the Web site
What other route does the Island have to replace this promotional tool?
