Hovertravel has introduced special travel arrangements for customers looking to travel on Monday 19th September and will operate to its weekday schedule, rather than reverting to a reduced bank holiday timetable.
The first flight will depart Ryde at 06:15 and the last flight will depart from Southsea at 20:15, with the Hoverbus also operating throughout the day.
Chapman: We will look to add in extra flights if there is additional demand
Neil Chapman, managing director of Hovertravel, adds,
“Following discussions with our teams and some customer enquiries, we have decided not to adopt our usual smaller bank holiday operation but instead offer a full weekday timetable to allow customers to travel to pay their respects on the day of Her Majesty’s funeral.
“Thanks to the dedication of our staff we can help the Isle of Wight community connect with other transport operators as we recognise that customers may wish to travel to the big screen in Portsmouth’s Guildhall as well as the commemorative events in both London and Windsor.
“As always we will look to add in extra flights if there is additional demand.”
