There may be a month to go, but the excitement is hotting up for the second Minghella Film Festival.
The festival takes place in Newport between 12 to 14 March 2010 and this year focuses on Anthony’s television and radio career.
The events over the three days will trace his 30 year career as a writer, highlighting many of the long-term collaborations for which he was famed.
More stars confirmed
Juliet Stevenson was unable to attend the festival last year, as she was on stage in the West End, but we hear today, that she has been confirmed to not only attend the festival this year, but will also lead a live reading of Eyes Down Looking alongside David Threlfall (he of Shameless fame).
Michael Maloney will be making a return visit to the Island for the festival and taking part in a reading of Cigarettes and Chocolate with Juliette (who he starred with in the classic Truly, Madly, Deeply).
Anthony Minghella’s sister and Minghella Film Festival founder, Gioia Minghella, said: “This year’s festival is really special, featuring a
number of world exclusives and screenings of work by Anthony that the public won’t have had an opportunity to see for some time. We’re also delighted to welcome many of his friends and colleagues, who by supporting the event, make it so personal and unique.”
Tickets go on sale for the festival from this Friday. Check Events on the Wight for more detail.
