Next month Quay Arts will be hosting an exhibition exploring man’s fascination with piers and bridges.
A large-scale pier and bridge installation in The West Gallery will encourage us to examine these man-made structures that connect the coast and the sea.
To accompany the exhibition, on 11th May, British photographer Simon Roberts joins the discussion with his latest project, Pierdom, documenting the last remaining piers across the British coastline, four of which are on the Isle of Wight.
Photographic competition
You can get involved too by taking part in the debate and uploading your photographs of the world of piers and bridges to the Quay Arts Facebook page.
Simply tag your images ‘Quay Arts’ and you could win a one-to-one critique session with professional photographer Simon Roberts on Fri 11 May.
Deadline to upload your images is Tuesday 8th May.
There are some cracking pier and bridge shots in the VB Flickr Group (like this one shown by Ian Pacey), so we hope you all take part.
