If you’ve walked or driven through Ventnor in the last few days you will have seen roadworks taking place outside the new Tesco store.
We understand that a new Pelican crossing is being installed and the traffic island at the bottom of Spring Hill reduced, in order to allow buses and lorries easier turning into the High Street.
New loading bay
This is in preparation for a proposed loading bay outside the new Tesco store. The loading bay is the subject of a Traffic Order Notice, that is currently out to public consultation.
Residents have until the 9th November to lodge their views on the proposed loading bay, which has been consistently rejected by the Ventnor Town Council as being too dangerous, due to its proximity to several junctions.
