A further boost to the popularity to the Island was hoisted up the flagpole by Joanna Symons when the Telegraph headlined an article “Wave the Wight flag.”
Leading with “If the sun is likely to shine anywhere this summer, it will be on the Isle of Wight,” cannot be a bad thing.
The south comes in for most praise which she says is “only slightly optimistically described as a Mediterranean-style climate.”
Not content to heap adulation, Joanna continues describing “much of the southern coast and countryside has an other-worldly feel.”
The icing on the cake? “The coast road from Luccombe to Freshwater Bay, over rolling downs and along a wild shoreline, is one of the loveliest in Britain.”
Thanks Joanna, be sure to drop in for a cup of tea when you’re back on the Wight. You’ll be most welcome.
