We wish the very best of luck to the three Island policemen who will are preparing to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in memory of well-known Isle of Wight teenager Asa Singleton who died earlier this year.
The challenge which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours will raise funds for the Neurofibromatosis Association.
The lads will be traveling north to Scotland early on Wednesday, 1 July and will starts their challenge at the base of Ben Nevis at 6am on Thursday 2 July.
It’s hoped that by 6am on the Friday morning that they will have reached the finish line at the base of Snowdon.
One of the officers, PC Matt Wilford, said: “The team chose this challenge as we are all keen walkers, and want a demanding target to help raise the profile of the charity.
“This challenge is going to be exceptionally testing. It involves around 15 hours of walking, over 25 miles, with only a few hours recovery between each peak. We expect it to be tough, but intend to encourage each other through the climbs.”
