Just a day after the vacancy for the Cowes North seat on Cowes Town Council was announced, another vacancy appeared on the list: A vacancy in the Cowes Medina ward.
As before, ten local government electors for the ward must give Notice in writing that they wish the vacancy to be filled by means of an election. The deadline is Tuesday 12th December 2023.
If the required number of requests for a by-election are not received then the Town Council will proceed to fill the vacancy by means of co-option, that is, the council choosing who they would like to fill the seat without residents having a say.
Wootton Bridge
A vacancy has also arisen on Wootton Bridge Parish Council.
The last date for ten local government electors for the Parish to give Notice in writing that they wish the vacancy to be filled by means of an election is Tuesday 19th December 2023.
