Turkey/Syria Earthquake: Drop off point for donations around the Isle of Wight (updated)

Better Days Cafe in Ventnor are acting as a drop-off point for anyone wishing to donate items to support those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Thousands of people in Turkey and Syria have been killed in the earthquake that took place on Monday and many more have lost their homes, are sleeping rough and have been separated from their families.

What to donate
Situated next to Tesco Express on the High Street (opposite the Central car park), Better Days Cafe are specifically seeking donations of sanitary items and baby items; nappies, wipes, baby food, dummies and bottles.

Drop them off this week as they are being collected and taken to Turkey and Syria next week.

You can find Better Days Cafe open 10am-5pm Monday to Friday at 64 High Street, Ventnor PO38 1LT.

  • Newport – County Press office or Hose Rhodes and Dickson

If you are not able to donate any items in person you can donate money to the British Red Cross or Unicef who are helping those affected.
