Uploaded is Xfm’s unsigned band network. Each week dozens of unsigned bands join the network and enter a competition to become the most popular band of the week.
One of the Island’s newest bands, The Waxworks, is hoping that some of our lovely readers will check them out on the Uploaded Web site and vote them up. Something we’d definitely endorse.
The Waxworks made their debut performance at the Wight Trash Transitions CD launch, generously giving their time and donating a track to the CD which we hope will raise lots of cash to help renovate the Ventnor Skate Park (update on skate park works coming up later today).
Getting a taste for live performances, they then played the Glynn Taylor show on IW Radio and have a session booked in at the Bees studio next week to play around with some news tracks.
Citing their influences with such greats as Bob Log III, long time hero – Billy Childish, The Raveonettes, legends The Fall and toe tapping, knee slapping Jawbone who has just finished his UK tour, we can see how they’ve arrived at their excellent sound.
Make sure you get voting and let’s see this Isle of Wight Band win this week’s competition. Hit the ’email this story to a friend’ link at the bottom of this article to help spread the word.
