Wightlink quietly-released a video last week.
So quiet were they about it, that we just happened to stumble across it today. There’s been no press release or fanfare.
In it, Wightlink lay out – in a fairly dry manner – their case as to the quality of service they provide.
What’s in it
The video features individual Island sports people, as well as sporting groups that they sponsor. A spokesperson from Wessex Cancer Trust discusses the discounts that cancer patients receive from Wightlink when making mediacal trips.
Isle of Wight businesses give testament to the service they say they receive from Wightlink, including a new company to us Cini Fire Tech, who provide fire safety to film shoots.
There’s interview with tourism people and some words from the company boss, Russell Kew.
The video ends with some statistics about the Wightlink service.
Under pressure
The ferry companies, in particular Wightlink have been under intense fire of late, including pressure that the Better Ferry Campaign and MP Andrew Turner have been trying to apply.
It’s hard to see this in any other way than the company wanting to lay out its own stall, directly to the public.
