Owner of The Royal Hotel in Ventnor, William Bailey is planning to really push the boat out tomorrow night for The Isle of Wight Youth Trust Inaugural Gala Dinner.
He will be playing host to 160 very special guests at the sparkling Gala Dinner and from what we understand, will be footing the entire bill himself.
It’s his way of helping to raise the profile of the Youth Trust, which in turn, he hopes will raise at least £30,000 for the charity that does such important work on the Island.
The lucky guests will be treated to sensational food, wonderful champagne and the outstanding live music from Liane Carroll and her band.
“My aim is to raise £30,000 for a charity that is very dear to my heart,” says William.
What will the money be used for?
The Youth Trust has been running on the Island for the last 25 years providing therapy, counselling, information and support services to young people.
If you’re wondering what the money raised will go towards, Eileen Monks, Director of the IWYT explains, “This is an exceptionally generous gesture, William and his family are great supporters of our work and with the money raised from this event we plan to launch a new Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program called The Works.”
The new program will provide a free and confidential advice and treatment service to young people experiencing problems directly related to drugs and alcohol.
“At the core of this project will be a programme called WISC – the Isle of Wight intensive 12 step course,” explains Eileen “which is based on the 12 step approach to addiction.”
Music and passion …
As well as the simply gorgeous food (speaking from experience) that will be coming out of the Royal Hotel’s kitchen, guests will be entertained during the evening by multi award winning and world-class singer Liane Carroll and her band.
Liane is a Ronnie Scott regular and we understand, has also waived her fee for the evening in support of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.
So who’s on the guest list?
Given the target of raising £30,000 on the night, we expect the guests will include lots of very generous folk.
Included in that list are Rob and Josie da Bank. They have a close association with the Youth Trust who have been providing welfare support to the Bestival and Camp Bestival since 2004.
Rob said “The Isle of Wight Youth Trust do a fantastic job providing welfare services at the Bestival and Camp Bestival. They’re part of the team and we are glad to support them.”
We wish all the guests a wonderful evening and congratulate William on his extremely generous support for the charity.
