We have just seen the full Isle of Wight council cut proposals which have just been outlined in preparation of the December Cabinet Meeting.
On Tourist Information they say …
It is proposed to end the provision of Tourist Information Centres as from 31 March 2011 and for discussions to continue with partner agencies to establish how and where this information can be provided to visitors, as well as identifying ways in which the advice and support provided to residents can be transferred to other council services. The saving for 2011/12 will be £175,000 and £200,000 in a full year (2012/13).
