The cold weather did nothing to keep prize-winners for this year’s Wight Fair Writers Winter Writing Competition away from Newport last night.
Around sixty people gathered in the Castlehold Baptist Church (which was kindly loaned for the evening) for the Winter Writing Competition grand prize-giving.
Entries tripled in 2010
This year, the Wight Fair Writers’ Circle received three times as many entries to their competition, making judging all the harder.
However, winners had to be chosen, so the judges worked their way through the many anonymous entries.
Handing out the prizes on the night were authors Pauline Rowson, Wendy K Harris and Diana Kimpton.
And the winners are ….
Congratulations to everyone who took part. Stories by the winners of the three main categories will all be published right here on VB over the next couple of days.
