Back near the start of December 2011, the long-time derelict Savoy Hotel in Sandown had a fire requiring fifty fire-fighters to tackle it.
Many people in the area still question the circumstances of the fire.
Well, now someone’s taken their questioning in to a more public arena and painted “Arson!?” on a number of the boards that were covering broken windows on the old Savoy Hotel after the fire.
Police: “No evidence”
Ten days after the fire, Island Police announced that “Although arson cannot be ruled out completely, there is no evidence at this time to suggest that the cause of the fire was linked to a crime or any foul play.”
