Sometime between 2.15pm and 2.45pm on Tuesday, December 3, two horses were being ridden along the High Street in Brading.

A gold coloured Nissan Micra has been involved in a collision with one of the horses when it attempted to pass with traffic approaching from the opposite direction.

The driver did not stop.

Investigating Officer, PC James Holden of Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit said:

“Luckily the riders were uninjured, but they have been left shocked by what happened.

“One of the horses is believed to have minor muscular injuries which might need further treatment.

“However this could have resulted in far worse injuries to the horses and ultimately their riders.

“This was a busy time of the day and we know there were quite a few people who witnessed this incident. If you saw this happen please get in touch with me at Shanklin Police Station by phoning 101 and quoting ref 44130455316.”
