The Ventnor Town Council say they hope a postponement of the decision can be avoided and are willing to provide Scrutiny Committee Members with any additional information they need.
Negotiations can now start to secure the 25 year lease between the Isle of Wight council and the Ventnor Town Council for the continued use of the Coastal Centre at Salisbury Gardens.
UKIP Councillor, Graham Perks voted against the proposal to treat Ventnor Town Council as a Special Purchaser of the Coastal Centre at Salisbury Gardens. It made no difference to the outcome of the vote though and the support of the Scrutiny Committee was recorded.
There was no news on the developments at the Winter Gardens, but the Ventnor town council are planning to pursue negotiations about the future of the Coastal Centre.
The Strategic Manager for Economy, Tourism and Events informs Ventnor town council that the Coastal Centre will not be protected for future economic and community use. There is no right of appeal.
