On the 20th anniversary of the disappearance of Damien Nettles, Police say that any new searches would have to be based on verifiable information and not "fictions fuelled by the repetition of rumour".
Damien Nettles went missing at the age of 16 in mysterious circumstances on 2 November 1996. He has never been found.
The Nettles family have had the continued support of thousands of Islanders in their search for Damien. Campaigns for information leading to his remains take place as each year passes.
Rewards of £20,000 by the Police and £10,000 from a local businessman have sadly led nowhere in providing closure for Damien’s family.
