Today (Sunday) sees the end of an era on Island Line as the 80-year-old Class 483 trains make their last journeys on the line
Island Line Trains are the Isle of Wight’s only commercial rail provider.
The service runs from Ryde Pier head in the north of the Island, to Shanklin towards the south.
It’s a vital lifeline, providing a swift connection to means to exit to the Mainland, via the FastCat or Hover.
