Headon Warren aerial footage by WightWings

Amazing aerial footage of Headon Warren landslip

One of the major problems with the Headon Warren landslip has been that it’s really difficult to understand quite how large the landslip was.

The photos that OnTheWight has published, although very informative and gave some great detail, just didn’t give an overview of everything going on.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle footage
OnTheWight has been working with WightWings to try and get over that problem, by flying an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) over the area – the skills that WightWings have been building for some time.

The UAV is a light vehicle with six helicopter type blades on the end of each arm, with a video camera slung underneath.

As there was some wind around today, WightWings tells us that the video isn’t as steady as they’d normally look to capture.

We think the captured video from today is impressive.

Those familiar with the area will be shocked at quite how much land has slipped away from the well-known ridge path.
