Ann Faber: Sadly Lost

Police have confirmed this afternoon, that the body found at cliffs in the Shanklin area yesterday morning was that of missing woman, Ann Helen Faber, aged 53, of Blythe Way, Shanklin.

Ann was well known to many people around the Wight. As an accomplished artist, she ran workshops at Quay Arts. Others will have known her for the excellent taxi/rescue service she operated with her Wild Horses rescue service.

You could phone her at any time of day or night and she’d happily come out to help.

Prior to the restrictions on use of cars on the Tennyson Trail, Ann gave many disabled or immobile people the opportunity to enjoy the views from her land rover.

We were once told by a third party that it was Ann who appeared in the 1970s thriller, The Shining as one of the twins in the hallway scene, although we never got around to confirming this with Ann herself.

Our sincere condolences go out to Ann’s family and friends. She will be fondly remembered by all at VentnorBlog.
