Pier to Pier Swim

Appeal for more kayakers or canoeists for Pier to Pier Challenge

Bob shares this latest appeal. Ed

We need to have at least ten more kayakers/canoeists to act as safety craft to enable us to hold the 64th Pier to Pier Swim Race, on Saturday 6th August at 2.15pm.

So pleads Bob Cooper, Safety Officer and Referee of this event,

“Stringent Insurance criteria as well as ensuring the total safety of the competitors means we have to have a proportinate number of safety craft to the numbers of swimmers.”

The main safety craft will be the Sandown/Shanklin Independant Lifeboat, the Ryde Inshore Rescue Lifeboat and at least six boats from the Shanklin Deep Sea Fishermen.
