Spending in time in nature is said to reap many benefits: especially in green or blue spaces like woodland, parks, coast and rivers. It’s associated with lower stress, reduced anxiety and improved mood.
But what if you are house-bound and not able to get out? Or stuck behind a computer during daylight hours?

Autumn on the Isle of Wight
This is where Paul Knights‘ latest short film comes in.
Autumn Landscapes is a compilation of clips filmed during the months of September to November, either this year or last year at various locations around the Island, and at various times of the day.

A calming seven and a half minutes
Within minutes of this relaxing tour of the Island during the autumn months you’ll feel your heart rate lowering and your mood improving. It’s really quite remarkable what seven and a half minutes can achieve, but it’s all here in this latest offering from Paul.

Finding beauty in changing light
He explains,
“It’s always a buzz for me when I set off on a walk with a camera in hand, a loose plan and a few images in my head of what I might see.
“Even on the dullest of days which might start with drizzle and a boring flat white sky, conditions can change, if only for a brief period, into a beautiful scene as clouds begin to break, highlights clip the landscape and shadows and texture reveal themselves.”

Clouds, waves and trees
He goes on to say,
“Clouds, waves, trees – three underlying subjects I often remind myself we are surrounded by, ever-changing with the weather, the light, the seasons…so no shortage of content. And with a bit of luck and some patience there’s always the chance to see some local wildlife to add to the mix.”

If nothing else, it’s a great game of seeing how many different types of birds you can identify.
