Isle of Wight short-filmmaker, Paul Knights, has been busy with his camera again.
A couple of weeks ago he joined the 1,000s of people who headed to Cowes for the annual Cowes Week Sailing Regatta 2026.
Over the course of a few trips, Paul captured footage of the action on the water, as well as spectators shoreside.
From 400 clips to final cut
Paul said,
“After a couple of late nights sifting through almost 400 clips, again..and again…and again (the joys of editing), I finally completed my final cut!”
Yachts, kitesurfers and cargo ships
The result is a ten-minute film which features competing yachts sharing the water with kitesurfers and foil surfers, as well as enormous tankers and cargo ships.
Paul even captured what looked like a few near misses!
