Isle of Wight short filmmaker, Paul Knights, has just shared his latest video and it’s a shocking one.
Paul decided to head over to Brading Marshes to film the dragon flies on the ponds, after catching some great footage there last November.
What he saw was a stark reminder of the impact this year’s drought has had on the area and the wildlife that relies on the water in the marshes.
A landscape transformed
What was once covered in water and bogland was replaced with hard, cracked mud. Something akin to an African landscape.
The area is home to a wide array of wildlife, ranging from Buzzards, Little Egrets, Green Woodpeckers and Marsh Harriers to butterflies, Hobbies and Red Squirrels.
