More changes earmarked for next year.
We have just seen the full Isle of Wight council cut proposals which have just been outlined in preparation of the December Cabinet Meeting.
Here’s what they say about how you will be dealt with people at the council in the future … or “provision of face to face contact with residents,” in the mad management speak that they’ve used …
As part of a further rationalisation of the provision of face to face contact with residents, this service will provide the infrastructure for the core help centre to be established during 2011 at County Hall.
This will remove the need for any reception facilities at other Council buildings as well as providing safe spaces for sensitive and confidential meeting between council staff and residents.
There will be ongoing development of web based materials which residents will be able to access from home reducing their need to travel to Newport.
Further services are being integrated into this centre to provide a genuine first point of contact for all residents. These services include planning service business support, highways and transport enquiries, building maintenance and social care enquiries.
