Cafe Scientifique: Science and Technology lectures

If you have an interest in science and technology, Isle of Wight Cafe Scientifique meetings will be right up your street.

They’re held on the second Monday of the month and each meeting features a speaker on a specialised subject, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

February’s meeting takes place next Monday (11th), when the speaker will be Dr Helen Czerski, a Research Fellow in the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Group at Southampton University.

Helen will be talking about ‘Bubbles: the Bath and Beyond’ and we’re told that you will never see bubbles in the same way again!

The meetings start at 7pm and a donation of at least £3 is requested to cover all expenses.

Speakers for the March, April and May events have also been confirmed and full details can be found on EventsOntheWight, so why not take a look and put the dates in your diary? The events are very popular with usually around 70 people attending from across the Island.

Previous talks can be heard through the IW Cafe Scientifique Website.
