Following the announcement yesterday that The Imaginary Village will be playing at Camp Bestival we’re pleased to let you in on more of the acts now confirmed to play in July at the Bestival’s sister festival.
The rather excellent Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip will be making their way over to Lulworth Cove to share their warped beats and exhibit their tremendous lyrical dexterity.
Check out this vid on YouTube … You’ve got to admire that beard ;-)
The Jing Jang Jong (who are also playing at IW Festival) are all the buzz at the moment and will be joined by Joe Lean and Ebony Bones. All tipped for the top.
Black Kids, Eliza Doolittle (an amazing songwriter in a Kate Nash kinda vein), super-talented siblings and old Bestival favourites, Kitty Daisy & Lewis (whose brilliant debut LP is also set to drop this year), ace spoken word artist Gideon Conn, 8-bit whizzkid and one to watch David E Sugar, young folk upstarts The Melodica, The Melody and Me, DIY pop diva Cock N Bull Kid, the rap/ska hybrid that is Imperial Leisure, blissful electronica from Jon Hopkins and sweet songs from folk singer Rachael Mary.
If that’s not enough to get your festival juices flowing check out the DJs. Rob Da Bank knows what he likes and that includes Bristol’s finest drum’n’bass courtesy of DJ Krust, jazz, soul and house influences from BBC Radio One’s majestic Gilles Peterson and the reggae and dub stylings of One Deck and Popular all ripping it up in the Balearic Bollywood tent while Gaz’s Rockin Blues and The Shellac Collective get things rockin’ and a rollin’ late night style in the Come Dancing Spiegeltent.
