If you’re into writing or reading, you may well already know about the Portsmouth BookFest.
It takes place between 17 October to 13 November and this year CSI Portsmouth returns as part of the festival.
Island based crime author and former detective, Bob Bridgestock, and his co-author wife Carol Bridgestock will join Pauline Rowson, whose DI Horton crime novels and thrillers are set on the Island and in Portsmouth, for CSI Portsmouth 2011.
They’ll be appearing with best selling crime authors: Mark Billingham, John Harvey and Michael Ridpath and will also be joined by experts from the Crime Scene Investigation team and Fingerprinting Bureau of Hampshire Constabulary and from the International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology to discuss crime fiction and fact in CSI Portsmouth at John Pounds Community Centre in Portsmouth.
Popular event
Last year’s inaugural event attracted an audience of over two hundred people and it is anticipated that a packed programme this year with a line up of top crime authors and experts will see numbers increase.
During the day there will be a chance for delegates to see how the fingerprinting bureau works and have their fingerprints taken, as well as talk to the crime authors to find out how they come up with their intricate plots and research their novels.
