This morning the Environment Agency issued a warning against swimming at Colwell Bay in the west of the Isle of Wight
Issued at 8:30am, the notice reads, “Advice against bathing: pollution risk warning”.
There was heavy rainfall over the Isle of Wight last night which can lead to this kind of warning.
Usually Excellent
Usually the bathing quality at Colwell Bay is rated as Excellent. The overall rating for the area from 2017 through to 2021 was excellent.
None of the other beaches on the Isle of Wight currently have any warnings.
