According to the National Trust (via the council) the steps leading down Compton Beach at Compton Farm have collapsed.
This means that the only access to and from Compton Beach are the steps from the Hannover Point car park.
For all those planning to get some surf in over the holidays or perhaps a Christmas Day walk after lunch, make sure you check the tide times before visiting the beach as there is only one way off the beach.
