Sorry:

Council apologise to suspended officers

Further to the suspension of two education officers in November 2012, this in from the Isle of Wight council. In their own words. Ed

In November 2012, the council released a statement to the media regarding the suspension from duty of two senior members of staff.

Despite the fact that the statement was factually correct and the council did not name either of these employees in the statement, it is recognised that as senior officers working on the project there was potential for their names to be linked to the statement concerned.

Apologies
The council therefore wishes to apologise to Mrs Janet Newton and Mr John Brocklehurst.

The investigations into the management of the Cowes Enterprise College Project have not been concluded and are an internal matter for the council which urges the public, press, partners and colleagues not to speculate upon the professional standing of either Mrs Newton or Mr Brocklehurst.
