Council confirms how services will run during Isle of Wight Festival

The Isle of Wight Council is working closely with festival organisers and partner agencies to ensure the Island remains safe, well managed and running smoothly during the Isle of Wight Festival, taking place from 18th to 22nd June.

While some services will operate differently to support the event, essential services will continue, and careful planning is in place to minimise disruption for residents. The council thanks residents for their cooperation and support during this busy period.

Below are details of service arrangements.

Seaclose Office, Newport

  • Thurs 18 June (from 12 noon) — Closed
  • Mon 22 June (from 8.30am) — Partially open (service dependent)
  • Tues 23 June — Fully open

Advice

  • Only visit in person between Mon 15 – Thurs 18 June if essential
  • Parking: Available at Seaclose Park entrance (grassed area)

Register Office

Face-to-face services

  • Thurs 18 June — Closed from 12 noon
  • Fri 19 and Sat 20 June — Closed all day. Marriage Room relocated to County Hall, High Street, Newport

Planning Services (including Building Control)

  • Weds 17 June — No Wednesday Walk-in session 
  • Thurs 18 June (from 12 noon) until Mon 22 June — Offices closed
  • Use online services: Planning – Isle of Wight

Crematorium

  • Open as normal.

Coroner’s Office

  • Thurs June 18 to Mon 22 June — Closed to face-to-face appointments

1Leisure Medina

  • Wed 17 June: Open as normal (no swimming lessons)
  • Thurs 18 June (until 2pm): Open
  • Fri 19 to Sunday 21 June — Closed
  • Mon 22 June — Open from 6am. Swimming lessons resume.

Waste services

  • Collections continue as normal
  • Put bins out by 7am (6.30am for Fairlee Road)
  • Ensure bins are accessible
  • Secure waste properly

Newport Cemetery

  • Access via The Quay steps only
  • Limited parking (Blue Badge holders only)
