The Cowes Floating Bridge will be out of action until at least Wednesday the Isle of Wight council say.
The crossing between Cowes and East Cowes was suspended on Sunday following problems with the onboard software.
A spokesperson for IWC said,
“Further to the Floating Bridge statement issued yesterday evening (Sun 16th July) and whilst we await a technical specialist engineer to resolve the software issue, we are working hard to restore the service as urgently as possible.
“However, in the absence of any immediate change, the Floating Bridge will remain out of service until at least Wednesday 19th July.
“The launch service (Jenny Lee) will continue to operate during this time.”
