Golf putters at the ready!

Visitors to Sandown will soon be able to enjoy a round of golf at the much-loved Brown’s Golf Course.

Tee-off a new chapter
New tenant, Paul Saville, will tee-off a new chapter in the long history of the iconic family attraction when he reopens the greens this summer.

He said he felt privileged to be a part of the unique venue after securing a five-year lease from the Isle of Wight council.

Work has started in the front part of the building allowing the cafe to open for refreshments and ice creams and people to play golf once again.

Discount for Dinosaur Isle customers
Paul will even be offering a ten per cent discount on a round of golf for Dinosaur Isle customers.

For the latest updates, people should visit the Brown’s Golf Facebook page.

Paul said,

“I have been visiting Brown’s with friends for almost 20 years and fell in love with it particularly the previous welcoming atmosphere, which is something I am dedicated to continuing.

“I look forward to working with the council to ensure Brown’s has a very bright future and is a place for all to enjoy.”

Bacon: A positive step forward
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Cabinet member for environment and heritage, said the council had worked hard to secure the future of the popular attraction, and he looked forward to a great partnership for many years to come. He said,

“We very much welcome Paul to Brown’s — this is a positive step forward for restoring this historic attraction as part of Sandown sea front and the plans we seek to develop for the future of the area.”

Jones-Evans: Brilliant news for the summer season
Councillor Julie Jones Evans, Cabinet member for regeneration, added,

“Getting the facility open again for golf and takeaway refreshments is brilliant news for the summer season and I thank the new occupants for wanting to move forward with such a positive attitude.

“There’s a great appetite in the area for long term improved facilities for Brown’s which the Isle of Wight Council will work with the community to bring forward.”
