Thanks to Georgia for details of this open exhibition, something that should be of interest to budding artists on the Isle of Wight. Ed
This season, Quay Arts will be inviting visitors to join them in a series of events and exhibitions in we they can reflect on and interpret the world around us, from our own unique standpoint.
Standpoint (definition: a physical or mental position from which things are viewed, considered or judged; a point of view).
Historically, Quay Arts’ biennial contemporary art exhibition has featured selected work by some of the finest up-and-coming and fully established artists from across the UK and each time, has awarded one artist with a solo exhibition in The West Gallery.
Make a statement from your standpoint
Coinciding with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, 2012 is your chance to make a statement from your standpoint!
Although we are unable to offer an award this time round, this OPEN exhibition co-curated by our team of Young Curators, aims to offer a platform for artists early in their artistic development and working in the South East region.
Work submitted can be responding to some of the themes addressed in our Standpoint programme or submitted as work-in-progress, or even as an idea that will grow when brought to the gallery. Therefore the application process is fairly loose with only an outline of your idea required.
£10 flat rate fee, no restrictions, no limits.
To apply, please download an application pack (Word Doc).
Application Deadline: Mon 30 Apr
